For the first time, the Department of Medical Law and Ethics at Astana Medical University hosted an international round table titled «Constitutional Development of Kazakhstan and Russia», held in cooperation with Saratov State Law Academy. This university specializes in training experts in medical law and is a reliable partner of our institution.

The event brought together leading Kazakhstani and Russian experts in constitutional and medical law. Participants, via Zoom, discussed current pressing issues such as modern challenges in ensuring citizen’s rights to health protection, the need for legal support of healthcare reforms, and new approaches to the training of medical personnel.

The constitutional development of Kazakhstan and Russia is progressing toward the strengthening of social rights, including the right to healthcare, education, protection of personal data, and fair trial. However, both parties concluded that further institutional and regulatory reinforcement of these provisions is required at the implementation level.

Following the discussion, participants expressed interest in expanding cooperation between legal and medical universities, advancing educational and research programs, and preparing a joint inter-university resolution aimed at modernizing legal education and strengthening interdisciplinary connections in the context of constitutional transformations. It is planned that this round table will be held annually.
