Astana Medical University hosted a national scientific and practical conference titled “Topical issues in therapy from the perspective of evidence-based medicine”. The event was dedicated to the International Family Doctor Day and brought together specialists from leading medical institutions and universities across Kazakhstan.

The conference was organized by the Department of general medical practice with a course of evidence-based medicine at Astana Medical University. It served as a platform for the exchange of practical approaches, scientific data, and clinical experience in the field of therapy and primary healthcare.

The welcoming remarks were delivered by Vice-Rector for Research Vitaliy Viktorovich Koikov.

“The conference program is indeed very comprehensive: the presentations address both clinical medicine and prevention, as well as key innovations in evidence-based medicine. I would particularly like to highlight the active participation of young researchers, students, residents, and doctoral students”, - said Vitaliy Koikov.

Special attention was given to the section dedicated to young scientists. Students, residents, and PhD candidates presented research on topics such as malnutrition, cognitive impairment after stroke, features of infectious diseases in children, risk factors for psychoactive substance use, as well as vaccination, chronic kidney disease, and thrombosis associated with air travel. The best presentations were recognized with diplomas based on the results of an independent expert commission.
