A seminar for third-year students of the “Public Health” academic program was conducted by Zhannur Mukhangali, Head of the Department for Interaction with Legal Entities and Individuals of the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).

This event was made possible due to a memorandum of cooperation signed between the Fund and the university in March of this year.

During the three-day training, participants explored the mechanisms of medical service provision within the framework of the Compulsory Social Health Insurance (CSHI), feedback procedures with insured individuals, and response algorithms to citizens’ inquiries. The representative of the Fund also reminded students about the 15 categories of citizens who receive medical care funded by the government, including students, pregnant women, pensioners, and other socially vulnerable groups.

Future healthcare professionals raised a number of important questions, which were discussed in a lively dialogue format. Topics included the structure and operational model of the SHIF, employment prospects within the Fund’s system, and the digitalization of the CSHI and the Guaranteed Volume of Medical Care (GVMC), among others.

As a result of the seminar, 15 students not only deepened their knowledge of the CSHI system but also received certificates as consultants.

The university plans to continue organizing similar training seminars on a regular basis to further expand professional development opportunities for students.
