Astana Medical University hosted the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic: “The Role of Military Medicine in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. The event brought together leading experts in the field of medicine, faculty members, military doctors, and students.

The conference was organized by the NJSC “Astana Medical University” and the SE “Main Military Clinical Hospital”. Participants discussed how to enhance the effectiveness of medical support for the armed forces, the current challenges in the training of military doctors, and how to adapt treatment practices to field conditions.

The key event of the conference was the plenary session, during which participants focused on ways to improve the efficiency of medical support for the army. Special attention was given to current challenges in the training system for military physicians, as well as to the adaptation of treatment protocols to field conditions. Emphasis was placed on the need to modernize educational programs, develop simulation training, and introduce innovative teaching methods that align with the demands of modern military medicine.

“Military doctors have traditionally been trained within general medical programs; however, current realities require a different approach. Today we are reaching a new level: the university is already cooperating with the National Defense University in the training of master’s students, and in the future, we plan to establish a separate faculty of military medicine. This is an important step towards strengthening the human resource capacity in the field of military medical support”, – noted Vitaliy Koikov, Vice-Rector of Astana Medical University.

Particular attention was given to the participation of young researchers. During the poster session, they presented scientific projects in therapy, cardiology, and other related disciplines.

The conference successfully brought together expertise, science, and patriotism – for the benefit of national health and defense.
