Students learn to interpret ECG as part of the summer school program

The Heart Rhythm Research Institute of Astana Medical University conducted a training course titled “Clinical Electrocardiography” for students as part of the Summer School program.

During this course, participants gained fundamental knowledge of ECG, including theoretical concepts and practical techniques, and learned how to operate relevant diagnostic equipment.

Students acquired the skills to interpret ECGs both in normal conditions and in various pathological states such as cardiac chamber hypertrophy, chronic coronary syndrome (CCS), acute coronary syndrome (ACS), and premature ventricular contractions (PVC). Under the supervision of instructors, they also mastered the practical skill of recording ECGs in standard and additional leads.

For the second consecutive year, fifth-year students of the “General Medicine” program Didar Muratbek and Alisher Tlegenov participated in the course. This year, they were joined by third-year students Iman Fatima and Saif Muneeb Ali. All participants of the Summer School demonstrated strong academic performance and successfully completed the practical sessions.

Upon completion of the course, students improved their skills in independently conducting ECG studies, interpreting results, and formulating clinical ECG conclusions. They also learned to integrate scientific and medical knowledge into their practical activities.
