The Summer School «Surgical Skills» was held at the Multidisciplinary City Hospital №1 in Astana, organized by the Department of Surgical Diseases with courses in Angiosurgery and Plastic Surgery.
The program of the school was aimed at developing fundamental and applied skills in surgery. The training included theoretical modules and practical sessions encompassing simulation exercises as well as participation in clinical practice. Particular attention was given to the principles of asepsis and antisepsis, as well as the development of professional communication within the operating room environment.
Participants of the school acquired techniques for primary surgical wound treatment, laparocentesis and thoracocentesis, incision of acute purulent mastitis, traditional and laparoscopic appendectomy, sclerotherapy, and ligation of hemorrhoidal nodes. Practical skills were honed on mannequins, phantoms, and synthetic skin, followed by hands-on experience in operating room conditions under the supervision of instructors.
The Summer School served as an effective platform for reinforcing theoretical knowledge, enhancing clinical competencies, and building professional confidence among future physicians.
