On June 25, 2025, as part of international cooperation in the field of medical education and science, the European School of Radiologists (ESOR) on “Abdominal Radiology” was held with the participation of invited professors. The training took place in a hybrid format at the conference hall of the Center for Maternal and Child Health of the UMC Corporate Fund. The event was organized by the Kazakhstan Radiological Society in collaboration with Astana Medical University.
During the visiting professorship, students attended lectures by leading radiology experts from Europe: L. Martí-Bonmatí (Valencia, Spain), K. Stupis (Bern, Switzerland), and S. Gourtsoyianni (Athens, Greece).
Participants were also presented with reports on the following topics:
• Non-invasive diagnosis of chronic liver diseases,
• Diagnosis and staging of pancreatic and rectal cancer,
• The role of imaging in inflammatory bowel disease,
• Diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma,
• Pseudotumors of the pancreas.
According to Professor, PhD, DMSc Tairkhan Dautov, Vice President of the Kazakhstan Radiological Society, this school featuring visiting professors makes a significant contribution to the training of future specialists.
