The “Abai–Vern” program is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France aimed at supporting Kazakhstani students pursuing education at French universities. The scholarship provides opportunities for study and research training in France at the master’s and doctoral levels across a wide range of fields.
Key benefits of the program:
· monthly living allowance (800 EUR for master’s students for 10 months and 1500 EUR for PhD students for 6 months per year over 3 years);
· exemption from registration fees at a French public university;
· long-term student visa;
· access to CROUS student housing;
· subsidized meals in student cafeterias;
· free additional medical insurance;
· educational programs available in French or English;
· support within the framework of international academic cooperation.
Eligibility:
· 2nd-year master’s students;
· 1st-year PhD students.
Important:
· only citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan are eligible to apply;
· admission confirmation or an invitation letter from a French university is required;
· the program does not apply to bachelor’s degree studies.

Information on the opening date and the application deadline for the 2026–2027 academic year will be announced separately.
