The Department of Public Health and Management of Astana Medical University held an international round table dedicated to financial literacy, economic resilience, and modern approaches to innovation assessment. The event was timed to the National Currency Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Tenge, which added special symbolism and relevance to the meeting.
The round table brought together scholars, experts, and representatives of government institutions from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan, highlighting the event’s international scope and its importance for the academic and scientific community.
International experts and invited speakers delivered presentations:
Antonina Sharkova, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Sectoral Markets of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow, Russia);
Sergey Chernogorsky, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (St. Petersburg, Russia);
Elmira Kuramaeva, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor at the Higher School of Economics of the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan);
Daulet Mukaev, PhD, Economist, Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the 8th Convocation (Astana, Kazakhstan);
Nurgali Ayazov, Operative Officer of the Department of Economic Investigations for Astana;
Gulzhan Alina, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management, Esil University (Astana, Kazakhstan).
The event was also attended by faculty members, staff, and students of Astana Medical University.
As part of the program, a thematic exhibition of collectible coins titled “Financial History and Symbolism of Kazakhstan” was presented. In addition to numismatic items, samples of scientific literature authored by Kazakhstani scholars and used in the educational process were displayed. This allowed participants to familiarize themselves with domestic academic research and deepen their understanding of the national academic school’s role in shaping financial culture and economic thinking.
The final stage of the event featured a Financial Literacy Olympiad for students, aimed at developing analytical and research skills in the fields of economics and management. First- and fourth-year students of the university took part in the intellectual competition.

3rd place – Nuraiym Toiken.
Other participants received certificates acknowledging their engagement and commitment to enhancing their financial competence.
The international round table became an important platform for professional exchange and strengthening cooperation between countries in the areas of economics, management, and innovative development.
