The team of Astana Medical University successfully participated in the International Olympiad in scientometrics, statistics, programming, and infectious diseases, held at Sechenov University in Moscow.
The team consisted of five interns and students majoring in Therapy, Surgery, and General Medicine. The participants demonstrated a high level of theoretical knowledge, strong analytical thinking, and well-developed practical skills, достойно representing the university on an international scientific and educational platform.
The Olympiad program included a captains’ competition, defense of scientific case studies, as well as role-based performances in the formats of presenter, opponent, and reviewer. As a result of the competition, representatives of Astana Medical University were recognized in several prestigious nominations.
In particular, Aruzhan Mendybayeva was awarded the diploma in the “Best Team Captain” nomination for her outstanding leadership skills and the best result in the programming task and ML analysis of medical data from 615 patients.
Madina Burumbayeva received the diploma in the “Best Opponent” nomination, demonstrating rigorous argumentation based on clinical guidelines and a high level of clinical reasoning.
Gulzhazira Mirzamuratova (presenter) and Torgyn Sanak (reviewer) demonstrated a structured and professional approach to the presentation and analysis of scientific papers.
Zaida Abzhanova showed deep expertise in the application of artificial intelligence in medicine and in the preparation of case reports.
An additional confirmation of the team’s scientific level was the selection of three papers prepared in English for publication in journals indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI):
