Dana Aldakuatova, a master’s student of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Astana Medical University, has successfully completed an internship at one of Japan’s leading research and educational centers - the University of Tsukuba. The training was conducted within the framework of the international academic mobility program, the SAKURA SCIENCE Exchange Program.

The internship program focused on studying Japan’s healthcare system from the perspective of modern scientific approaches and advanced international practices. During the training, participants explored innovative technologies in public health, standards for healthcare organization, features of primary healthcare delivery, as well as issues related to the organization of school nutrition.

As part of the visit, participants attended lectures on public health and visited the University of Tsukuba Hospital, including the Department of Infectious Diseases, the NipCA office and Cyberdyne Studio, the Health Services Research and Development Center, and the Iki Iki Plaza medical and social care facility. The practical component of the internship provided an opportunity to learn from Japanese colleagues and expand professional networks.

The final stage of the program included the presentation and defense of participants’ projects. Upon completion of the internship, Dana Aldakuatova was awarded a certificate confirming her successful participation in the program.

Commenting on her experience, the master’s student expressed gratitude to the organizers for the high quality of preparation and implementation of the internship and emphasized the importance of further developing international cooperation and strengthening partnerships between universities.
