Astana Medical University continues to advance its international integration agenda, marking another significant step through the visit of a delegation fr om one of Asia’s leading research and academic institutions - the University of Tsukuba (Japan). The visit extended beyond a formal protocol meeting, evolving into a substantive dialogue on the future of medicine, science, and education.
The Japanese delegation included Associate Professors of the Faculty of Medicine, Kobayashi Yusuke and Taniguchi Yuta, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Sono Fumoto, as well as students specializing in medical disciplines. The delegation was welcomed by Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and International Cooperation Ayan Myssayev, Dean of the School of Public Health and Management Aigerim Baimagambetova, along with members of the academic staff and representatives of research units.
The official program featured a comprehensive presentation of the university’s academic and research capacity, followed by discussions on the prospects for developing joint academic and scientific initiatives between the two institutions. Particular emphasis was placed on public health as a strategically important domain within contemporary medicine.
A key highlight of the visit was the signing of an Agreement on Academic Exchange and Cooperation between the University of Tsukuba and Astana Medical University, aimed at strengthening long-term institutional partnership. The agreement creates new opportunities for student and faculty mobility, joint research projects, and the implementation of collaborative educational initiatives.
The visit also included a tour of the university’s facilities, including the simulation center, wh ere the guests were introduced to modern approaches to medical education and training. The program further included a lecture session and an academic exchange of expertise with faculty members.
This visit stands as a strong testament to the strengthening of international academic ties and reaffirms Astana Medical University’s commitment to active participation in the global educational and research community.
