Astana Medical University continues to actively expand its international cooperation. The University hosted an official meeting with a delegation from Volga Research Medical University (VRMU, Russian Federation), aimed at deepening collaboration and implementing joint educational and scientific initiatives.
The meeting marked an important step in advancing bilateral cooperation and served as a continuation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities, which provides a comprehensive framework for joint projects in education, research, and clinical practice.
The VRMU delegation included Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elena Bogomolova and Head of the International Cooperation Office Tamara Bardinskaya. Astana Medical University was represented by Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and International Cooperation Ayan Mysayev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Asem Dosanova, Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department Merey Sataeva, as well as heads of key academic units.
During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of cooperation, including the development of academic mobility for students, academic staff, and administrative personnel, implementation of joint and double degree programs, and advancement of collaborative research projects. Special attention was given to joint supervision and training opportunities for master’s and residency students.
The sides also explored opportunities for participation in international grant programs and initiatives, including Erasmus+ and other funding mechanisms, and agreed to regularly organize joint conferences, seminars, and academic events.
As part of the visit, the University’s educational and research infrastructure was presented, demonstrating its strong capacity for training highly qualified medical professionals and implementing joint initiatives.
Particular importance was given to the approved Roadmap for 2026–2028, which includes the establishment of a coordination council, development of academic mobility, implementation of joint educational programs, and enhancement of joint research and publication activities.
This meeting was not merely a formal engagement but a strategic step toward building a sustainable international partnership. Astana Medical University continues to expand its global network, creating new opportunities for training world-class professionals and integrating into the global academic and scientific community.
