From May 18 to May 29, 2026, Astana Medical University successfully hosted an incoming academic mobility program involving students and a faculty member from Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
As part of the program, three students from Sechenov University completed an internship entitled “Leadership in Nursing”. The internship was aimed at strengthening professional competencies in nursing management, developing leadership skills, and exploring contemporary approaches to nursing administration and practice.
During the two-week program, the participants became acquainted with the activities of the university’s clinical training bases, learned about the organization of nursing services, and took part in various educational and practice-oriented activities organized by the university’s departments and academic units.
The students were accompanied by Ilya Anatolyevich Poleshchuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Nursing Management and Social Work at the Institute of Higher Nursing Education of Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. His visit was conducted within the framework of incoming academic mobility for faculty members.
During his stay at Astana Medical University, Associate Professor Poleshchuk delivered a series of lectures and academic sessions for students and faculty members on current issues in nursing leadership, nursing management, professional competency development, and contemporary trends in higher nursing education.
International cooperation and academic mobility remain among the key priorities of Astana Medical University, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and best practices, enhancement of educational quality, and strengthening of partnerships between leading medical universities.
The program became another significant step in the development of cooperation between Astana Medical University and Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, creating new opportunities for academic and professional collaboration among students and faculty members.
