9 students of Astana Medical University completed an industrial internship at Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute in the disciplines “Industrial Technology of Medicines” and “Pharmacognosy”.

The program included a field class on medicinal plant raw material harvesting and a tour of the botanical garden to study the species diversity of medicinal crops.

Students visited leading pharmaceutical companies of Uzbekistan: Gerbofarm, LLC “BALZAM”, Bayan Medical, LLC “NOBEL PHARMSANOAT” operating under GMP standards, and IE “Belpharm”. They got acquainted with production organization, storage and processing of medicinal plant raw materials, quality control, and manufacturing of finished dosage forms.

The internship allowed future pharmacists to reinforce theoretical knowledge, gain practical skills, and experience working in an international educational environment. The event strengthened cooperation between medical universities of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
