The Sharmanov National Medical University team took second place in the overall team standings at the international “Virtuosos of Medicine 2026” Olympiad.

Team results

• 1st place in Pediatrics — Bekzat Yelzhasov, a fifth-year student at the School of Pediatrics.

• 1st place in Emergency Care — Marzhan Yessenali, a fifth-year student at the School of Medicine.

• 2nd place in Obstetrics and Gynecology — Dana Aidarbek, a sixth-year intern at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 1.

• 3rd place in Internal Medicine — Adila Ayabergenova, an intern in internal medicine.

The 6th International Student Olympiad in Practical Medical Skills took place on 30–31 October at Tashkent State Medical University. According to the university’s Termez branch, around 200 students from 25 universities took part. Participating countries included Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Russia.

Participants worked through clinical cases and demonstrated practical skills in five categories covering internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, emergency care, and preventive medicine. Each participant competed in one category.
