NJSC "Astana Medical University" warmly invites students, young scientists, master, doctoral students, practicing nurses, academic staff from all medical universities, medical higher colleges and colleges of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign universities to participate in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Nursing education, research & practice in Kazakhstan: investing in the future of nursing”. This conference is part of the AccelEd project “Accelerating Master and PhD Level Nursing Education Development in the Higher Education System in Kazakhstan”, which is funded by the EU through the Erasmus + Foundation, which implements innovative projects to increase capacity and reform higher education.

CONFERENCE PROGRAM

The conference program includes plenary sessions and sessions with oral presentations, based on abstracts, as well as thematic discussions. The conference materials and a collection of abstracts will be released.

Dates: May 19-20, 2022

Venue: Hybrid format: offline based on the NJSC "Astana Medical University" and online (Zoom platform).

Conference languages: English, Kazakh, Russian (simultaneous translation will be provided).

MAIN THEMES OF THE CONFERENCE:

Session 1

“Excellence in Nursing through Collaboration between Education and Clinical Practice”.

Key issues: Best practices of collaboration on topics for Master’s and PhD theses and research, between education and clinical practice; Collaboration on educational programme development; Competence requirements for nursing education, from a clinical practice perspective; Mentoring.

Session 2

"Evidence-Based Nursing Practice and Research in Nursing".

Key issues: Evidence-based nursing practice; Research in Nursing; Clinical nursing guidelines; Creating evidence-based nursing practice; Implementation of research results into nursing practice.

Session 3

"Modern approaches to ensure the quality of nursing care".         

Key issues: Therapeutic interventions in nursing, quality of nursing care; Provision of health care services; Clinical nursing guidelines; Nursing process; Development of nursing roles.

PROCEDURE FOR PARTICIPATION AND SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

For participation in the conference and submission of an abstract, please submit the abstract to the Planning committee by this link: https://forms.gle/gBNfcQPc54fGg6e46 before 25.04.2022. After submission of materials, participants will receive notifications of acceptance of materials for publication within 5 working days. Applications and abstracts submitted after 25.04.2022 will not be accepted by the Planning Committee.

Conference materials are published in electronic form. The Conference Planning Committee reserves the right to edit or reject material that does not correspond to the topic of the conference or is designed in violation of the requirements. The Conference Planning Committee will decide if the presentation will be an oral or only published in electronic abstract book. Certificates of attendance are issued upon participation in the conference.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ABSTRACTS

Abstracts, checked stylistically and orthographically, should be presented in Kazakh, Russian or English languages. The text should be typed in MS Word, (Times New Roman 12 font), line spacing - single, with margins of 2,0 cm on left and right sides of the sheet, top and bottom margins 1,5 (sheet format A4). The number of words is no less than 300 not including the topic, information about the author (name, place of work), list of used literature.

The heading is formatted as follows:

The first line initials, surname(s), author(s) in bold type;

The second line - the title of the work in capital letters in bold type, no more than three lines without abbreviations, without quotes;

The third line - level of education, course of study, specialty;

The fourth line - academic degree, academic title, initials, surname of the supervisor;

The fifth line - institution full name, city, country in bold type.

Abbreviations are not allowed. Alignment of the first three lines in the center of the sheet. Further, after a space, the text of the abstract. Alignment of the text of the thesis in width. First-line indents – 1 cm. Abstracts that do not meet the requirements are returned for correction.

The application must be submitted in the form of an abstract with a mandatory indication following:

Recommended abstraction structure:

1) introduction, where you indicate the purpose of your message;

2) the main part, where your topic is described in more detail;

3) a discussion where you summarize the main findings and present your suggestions;

4) conclusion.



REQUIREMENTS FOR ORAL PRESENTATION AT THE CONFERENCE

1.     The presentation should be in MS Power Point (Power Point 2003-2016).

2.     Duration of oral presentation should not exceed 7 minutes, discussion: 3 minutes.

3.     The speaker provides the presentation to the organizers of the conference, before April 30, as the presentation will be translated. Please send to: aiymbetova.a@amu.kz.

4.     Due to different laptop software, please save your presentations in two extensions *.ppt and *.pptx

5.     Presentation requirements: the presentation should be prepared according to generally accepted rules (light slide + dark letters). On the first slide: university name, then - the name of the department, organization name for practicing medical workers; speaker’s full name; supervisor’s name; city and year, etc.
