Our university intern Kymbat Omarova was trained at Maribor University Hospital in Slovenia.
Kymbat spoke in detail about her training at the hospital.
"In the nephrology department, Professor Sebastian was my mentor. Together with the local students, we examined and collected the anamnesis of the patients. We discussed the most common diseases in nephrology, their diagnosis and basic treatments. During the internship, the professor allowed an ultrasound of the kidneys and I provided the patient with a detailed description. We were shown the process of hemodialysis, central vein catheterization, told Kymbat.
In the cardiology department, students were explained the entire treatment process in detail, and they made rounds together and examined patients. In the functional diagnostics department they had the opportunity to perform ultrasound of vessels, EchoCG, angiography, etc.
During her training in traumatology and orthopedics under Dr. Chretnik, Kymbat observed several surgeries, such as osteosynthesis of the fractured femur, the nuances of arthroscopic treatment, transtibial amputation and knee arthroplasty.
In the Department of Rheumatology, she studied with the residents with Professor Holtz, examining patients and performing musculoskeletal examinations. During her stay, she observed various diseases in rheumatology and the effectiveness of their treatment.
She also learned the principles of ECMO, EVI, sedation techniques, etc.
In addition to the educational process, the program opened many opportunities for me, I not only plunged into the traditions and life of another country, but also met new people from different parts of the world", at the end of the conversation Kymbat shared her impressions.
