A solemn event dedicated to the Day of the Medical Worker was held today, June 16, 2022, at the Astana Medical University.
Chairman of the Management Board – Rector Kamalzhan Nadyrov addressed a congratulatory speech to the guests and colleagues. He noted that the issues of strengthening the health of the nation, the creation of a competitive healthcare system and the training of high-quality medical personnel were identified by the Head of State as a priority task. In addition to deep knowledge and skills, we need to instill humanity, dedication, and high responsibility in students, he stressed in his speech.
The congratulations were also joined by Chairman of the Public Council of the Ministry of Health Nadezhda Petukhova, Head of the Public Health Department of Nur-Sultan Timur Muratov, deputy of the Maslikhat of Nur-Sultan, member of the Amanat party Vladislav Sergeev, as well as Mukhtar Tuleutaev, director of the Multidisciplinary Medical Center of the Akimat of Nur-Sultan and Dean of the School of Medicine of Nazarbayev University Massimo Pignatelli. They expressed warm words of gratitude to the noble cause of medical workers, especially noted the university's activities in training competitive specialists and an important contribution to the development of domestic healthcare.
Special words of recognition were spoken from the stage to the veteran of the national healthcare, Professor Venera Amirzhanovna Omarova, who has worked at the university for more than half a century and educated a galaxy of already well-known doctors and medical workers. On her initiative, in 1989, a department with the teaching of disciplines in the state language was opened at the university.
The award ceremony was held in a solemn atmosphere. The best of the staff and teaching staff were awarded with certificates of honor and letters of thanks.
