Graduates of the internship in the specialties "General Medicine", "Dentistry" and bachelor's degree in the specialties "General Medicine", "Dentistry", "Pharmacy", "Public Health", "Nursing" and foreign students in the specialties "General Medicine", "Dentistry" received diplomas today.
Opening the event, Chairman of the Board – Rector Kamalzhan Nadyrov in his congratulatory speech noted that the graduation ceremony is an important event not only for the university, but also for the whole republic. "Today is a celebration not only of our university and parents of students, it is a celebration of the entire system of higher education. The healthcare sector is being replenished with new young personnel who are able to implement their creative and modern approach in the name of the health of the nation. Remember, a diploma is not a guarantee of success. You are starting to work at a difficult but very interesting time. The world is becoming more global, borders are being erased, new diagnostic and treatment technologies are being introduced with great speed, so it is important to always remain in demand and follow the principle – education is not for life, but through life! Take care of the honor of the uniform, keep the whiteness of your robes!", he addressed the graduates.
Over the years of its existence, since 1964, more than 26 thousand students have been graduated. Today, many of them are well-known specialists who are in demand both at home and far beyond its borders.
In the early years, the university was represented by only fifteen teachers who worked in 13 departments.
Today the university is represented by 64 departments, two research institutes, 17 laboratories. Students hone their skills in almost all the leading clinics of the capital. As part of academic mobility, students and teachers have access to the best universities and clinics in the world. More than one and a half thousand people work at the university and about 10,000 students study, among them representatives of 20 countries of the near and far abroad.
Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov, addressing the graduates, noted a number of achievements of our country in the field of health and education, as well as the participation of university students in the fight against the pandemic. "I know how much diligence you applied to get a red diploma. It is difficult to study at medical universities. At a time when the whole country was resisting the COVID-19 pandemic, despite your youth, you joined the ranks of your senior colleagues to fight the virus. I am glad that you had the strength to be active, creative, positive and successfully complete your studies," he stressed.
More than three hundred university students were volunteers and worked in the red zones of hospitals, at ambulance stations in the largest places of congestion of citizens - at airports and train stations. 20 university students who especially distinguished themselves in the fight against the pandemic were awarded the state medal "Halyk Algysy", established by the Decree of the President of our country.
The Mayor of Nur-Sultan Altai Kulginov told about the capital's need for high-class medical specialists in his congratulatory speech. "Every year medical institutions of the capital are equipped with modern diagnostic equipment, we take all measures to ensure that every resident of the capital lives and works comfortably. More than 21 thousand medical organizations successfully operate in the capital, which employs more than 5 thousand doctors. I am glad that every fourth student of one of the best medical universities in the country will stay in the city of Nur-Sultan, I am sure that you will become the pride not only of the capital, but of the whole of Kazakhstan.
The important role of the university in the training of competitive medical specialists was also noted in his congratulatory speech by the Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vyacheslav Dudnik. He shared an example from his own life: "when I received my medical degree, we did not have such modern equipment and advanced technologies that are waiting for you at your workplaces. You are lucky to get an education in one of the best universities in the country. I am sure that the rapid development of the university will continue to contribute to the growth of the country's human capital and will allow us to bring domestic healthcare to the world level in order to withstand all the challenges of our time," he said in his congratulatory speech.
Warm words were repeatedly addressed to the theater staff during the solemn event. The State Opera and Ballet Theater "Astana Opera" is holding a graduation ceremony for graduates of the university for the first time today! As part of the graduation ceremony, the participants of the celebration witnessed wonderful concert programs performed by the creative team of the Astana Opera. According to the management of the theater, today's concert performances are a tribute to the Astana Opera team to all medical workers of the country!
The rector of the University Kamalzhan Nadyrov and every guest who spoke from the stage, and among them were political figures of the country, representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, Akim of the capital, rectors of medical schools and chief doctors of medical institutions. All of them, except for warm words of congratulations, noted the role of parents and the teaching staff of the university, wished the university prosperity, and the graduates success for the prosperity of Kazakhstan.
