School of Public Health and Management
The School of Public Health and Management of Astana Medical University provides comprehensive training of specialists through quality education, practical activities, and involvement in scientific research. Our graduates are equipped with the tools to work effectively in the healthcare system and to promote scientific ideas.
History
The Faculty of “Medical and Preventive Care” was established in 2003. From 2012 to 2019, the specialty “Public Health” was part of the Faculty of Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Dentistry, with Assoc. Prof. A.A. Karibzhanov serving as Dean.
By decision of the Board of Directors of Astana Medical University No. 7 of July 24, 2019, the faculty was reorganized and the Faculty of Public Health and Management was established. In accordance with structural changes at the University, by decision of the Board of Directors No. 17 of May 30, 2022, the faculty was renamed the School of Public Health and Management.
Mission
Training qualified specialists and managers in the field of population health protection and sanitary-epidemiological well-being within undergraduate and graduate programs aimed at evidence-based prevention, development of research potential, and practice-oriented approaches in healthcare.

1. “Medical and Preventive Care” – duration of study: 5 years. Graduates are awarded the academic degree Master of Public Health with the qualification of Physician-Hygienist, Epidemiologist. The program also provides shortened study terms for applicants with technical and vocational education backgrounds in Hygiene and Epidemiology or Laboratory Diagnostics.2. “Public Health” – duration of study: 5 years. Graduates are awarded the academic degree Bachelor of Public Health.
