Chair of ENT Diseases

Rais Kazhkenovich Tulebaev was born on January 15, 1941, in the Semipalatinsk region. He is a Doctor of Medical Sciences (1993), Professor (1994), Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1995), and Academician of the National Medical Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2003). He graduated from the therapeutic faculty of the Semipalatinsk State Medical Institute in 1964. From 1964 to 1967, he worked as an ENT doctor at the Kurday District Hospital in the Zhambyl region. From 1967 to 1970, he was a graduate student at the Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat Diseases at the Almaty State Medical Institute. Since 1970, he has been engaged in scientific work, first as a junior researcher and then as a senior researcher at the Institute of Regional Pathology. From 1975 to 1987, he served as the head of the science department and chief specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Kazakh SSR. From 1987 to 1992, he was the head of the Ust-Kamenogorsk branch of the Research Institute of Labor Hygiene and Occupational Diseases and the director of the "Kramds-Densaulyk" Center in Ust-Kamenogorsk. From 1992 to 1993, he was the head of the department at the Higher Attestation Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a member of the Collegium. From 1993 to 1997, he served as the rector of the South Kazakhstan State Medical Academy in Shymkent, and from 1997, he was the rector of the Akmola Medical Academy in Astana. His candidate dissertation was on the topic "The Condition of the Upper Respiratory Tract and Sensitization to Tobacco among Workers in the Tobacco Industry." His doctoral dissertation focused on "Clinical and Immunological Justification for Early Diagnosis and Prevention of Respiratory Intoxication in Workers of Chemical and Metallurgical Industries." He is the author of over 650 scientific works, 25 monographs, and a number of textbooks and teaching aids published in both the state and Russian languages, as well as more than 30 methodological guidelines. He holds 20 patents for inventions. Under his supervision, 15 doctors and 38 candidates of medical sciences, as well as 20 PhD doctors and one Master of Medicine, have been trained. From June 25, 1997, to March 15, 2023, he headed the Department of ENT Diseases at the NAO "Medical University of Astana." Rais Kazhkenovich Tulebaev is an Academician of the National Academy of Sciences, a Distinguished Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a Doctor of Medical Sciences, and a Professor. He currently serves as the Honorary Head of the Department of ENT Diseases at the NAO "Medical University of Astana."

Bolatbek Ziyabekovich Zhusupov - Professor Doctor of Medical Sciences. Was born on July 26, 1947, in the Kokshetau region. In 1971, he graduated from the Tselinograd State Medical Institute. He progressed through the ranks from clinical intern to assistant, associate professor, and eventually to professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. In 1998, he defended his candidate dissertation on the topic: "Clinical and Functional Characteristics of Respiratory Pathology in Poultry Farm Workers and Its Prevention with Phytopreparations." After the approval of his candidate dissertation, he was appointed as an associate professor in the department, where he worked for many years as a leading associate professor while also managing a significant volume of clinical work. In 2010, Bolat Ziyabekovich defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: "Improvement of Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute and Chronic Sinusitis and Ethmoiditis." His scientific advisors were Academician R.K. Tulebaev and Professor R.I. Rozenzon. Currently, Bolat Ziyabekovich works as a professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. He participated in the establishment of a pediatric ENT department and equipped it with modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. B.Z. Zhusupov has developed and improved techniques for minimally invasive endoscopic surgeries in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, as well as gentle and hearing-enhancing surgeries on the ear, endolaryngeal surgeries for trauma and benign tumors, and for congenital malformations of the nose, larynx, and ear in children. For his achievements in teaching and scientific-clinical activities, he was awarded a diploma in the "Golden Scalpel" nomination for the development and implementation of innovative surgical methods in Almaty (2005). Additionally, he was awarded the badge "Best Worker of the Health Care System of the Republic of Kazakhstan" for his active participation in protecting the health of the population (2006). For his significant contribution to otolaryngological science, he was included in the encyclopedia "Golden Fund of Medical Scientists of Kazakhstan" (2008). He received a state award and a commemorative medal "20 Years of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (2011). The NAO "Medical University of Astana" also highly appreciated his contributions to the university and awarded him the badge "Honored Teacher" (2012). B.Z. Zhusupov is actively involved in public work, serving as the chairman of the Veterans Council of the Medical University. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery" and is also part of the editorial council of the journal "Otorhinolaryngology - Eastern Europe."

Serik Zhakenovich Djandaev - Professor Doctor of Medical Sciences. Born on November 10, 1955, in the city of Akmolinsk, now known as Astana. In 1979, he graduated from the therapeutic faculty of the Tselinograd State Medical Institute (TSMI). From 1984 to 1986, S.Z. Djandaev underwent clinical residency in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at TSMI, headed by Associate Professor I.S. Ushakov, Candidate of Medical Sciences. After completing his clinical residency, he was sent to targeted postgraduate studies in Leningrad. There, he studied full-time from 1986 to 1989 at the clinic of ear, nose, and throat diseases of the First Leningrad Medical Institute named after Academician I.P. Pavlov, led by the Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Marius Stefanovich Pluzhnikov. In 1989, after completing his postgraduate studies, he successfully defended his candidate dissertation on the topic: "Combined Treatment of Chronic Polypous Rhinosinusitis Using High-Energy NIA-G Laser." In 2005, S.Z. Djandaev defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: "Traumatic Nose Disease (Early Diagnosis, Clinical and Pathogenetic Justification, and Treatment)." In the same year, the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded him the title of Professor. In 2006, he was appointed Chief Physician of the First City Clinical Hospital of Astana and held this position until 2008, while also serving as an associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. In 2008, he was promoted to Deputy Head of the City Health Department of Astana, where he worked until 2009. In the same year, he was awarded the title of Academician of the International Academy of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. From 2011 to 2019, he headed the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Faculty of Continuous Professional Education of the Medical University of Astana. S.Z. Djandaev has published over two hundred scientific works and two monographs. Under his supervision, one Doctor of Medical Sciences, three Candidates of Medical Sciences, four Masters of Medicine, and more than one hundred residents have been trained. For his significant contribution to the healthcare of the Republic, he has been awarded the badge "Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and a medal commemorating the tenth anniversary of the city of Astana. He is a physician of the highest category.

Gulmira Amantaevna Mukhamadieva was born on January 16, 1969, in the village of Zholymbet, Tselinograd region. In 1986, she graduated from high school and enrolled in the therapeutic faculty of the Tselinograd State Medical Institute the same year. After completing her studies, she entered clinical residency in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology in 1992 and graduated in 1994, obtaining the specialty of an otorhinolaryngologist. From 1994 to 1997, she studied in full-time postgraduate studies in the Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat Diseases. In March 1998, in Almaty, she successfully defended her candidate dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences at a specialized dissertation council in the field of otorhinolaryngology (code 14.00.04). Her dissertation was titled: "The Condition of the Upper Respiratory Tract in Workers of the Gold Mining Industry and the Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Phytopreparations for the Prevention of Respiratory Pathology." The scientific supervisors of her dissertation were Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences, Professor R.K. Tulebaev, and Professor D.D. Mukhambetov. In 2008, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic: "Surgical Treatment of Chronic Otitis Using an Improved Technology." The scientific consultants for her doctoral dissertation were Academician R.K. Tulebaev and Professor S.Zh. Djandaev. In 2010, she was appointed as a professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical University of Astana. In the same year, she became the head of the City Center for Otorhinolaryngology at the First City Clinical Hospital, combining this role with her position as a professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, where she continues to work to this day. For her achievements in practical healthcare, G.A. Mukhamadieva has been awarded the honorary badge "Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and received commendations from the Department of Health of the city of Astana and the Medical University of Astana.

Natalia Mikhailovna Papulova is Associate Professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Candidate of Medical Sciences

Natalia Mikhailovna Papulova was born on November 23, 1969, in the city of Krasnoarmeysk, Kokshetau region. In 1986, after graduating from the Chermoshnyanskaya Secondary School, she enrolled in the nursing department of the Kokshetau Medical College, which she graduated with honors in 1988. From 1988 to 1991, she worked as a nurse in the therapeutic department of the Krasnoarmeysk Central District Hospital. In 1991, she entered the therapeutic faculty of the Tselinograd State Medical Institute and graduated from the Akmolinsk State Medical Academy in 1997. From September to December 1997, she completed her internship in otorhinolaryngology at the ENT department of the First City Hospital in Akmolinsk. From 1997 to 1999, she worked as a research intern in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Akmolinsk State Medical Academy. From 1999 to 2002, she studied in full-time postgraduate studies in otorhinolaryngology at the Kazakh GMA in Astana. In 2003, she defended her candidate dissertation on the topic: "Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Comprehensive Treatment of Diseases of the Nose and Maxillary Sinuses." From 2003 to 2009, she worked as an assistant in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. In 2009, she was promoted to the position of associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical University of Astana, where she currently serves as an associate professor in the residency program for otorhinolaryngology and ophthalmology. N.M. Papulova has received recognition from the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She conducts lectures and practical classes for residents specializing in otorhinolaryngology and serves as a scientific advisor for residents studying in the field, including pediatric otorhinolaryngology. Currently, she also fulfills the responsibilities of the deputy head of the department, overseeing educational and methodological work, serving as a test developer, quality officer, and is responsible for documentation, folders, professional safety, energy management, and environmental management. She has published over 60 scientific works in her specialty, including two textbooks: "Acute and Chronic Sinusitis" (2004) and "Practical Skills in the Diagnosis and Treatment of ENT Diseases" (2013). She holds 5 preliminary patents, 5 rationalization proposals, and has implemented the results of scientific research into clinical practice.

Ermek Elemesovich Imangaliev was born on December 20, 1968, in the village of Charsk, East Kazakhstan region. He is a highly qualified otorhinolaryngologist and has 22 years of medical experience. In 1994, he graduated from the therapeutic faculty of the Semipalatinsk State Medical Institute. From 1994 to 1996, he completed his clinical residency in otorhinolaryngology at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Semipalatinsk State Medical Institute, based at the Regional Clinical Hospital. From 2004 to 2007, he studied in full-time postgraduate studies at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Kazakh State Medical Academy (KazGMA) under the guidance of Academician R.K. Tulebaev, a distinguished figure in Kazakhstan. In 2008, he defended his candidate dissertation on the topic: "Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Conservative Therapy for Chronic Tonsillitis in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus." Since 2010, he has been the head of the ENT department at the City Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2 and continues to work in this position today. He has published over thirty scientific works and has participated in numerous national and international conferences. He has also undergone training abroad, including master classes in Croatia and Austria.

Adil Alibekovich Mustafin was born on August 17, 1982, in the city of Pavlodar. In 1999, he enrolled in the therapeutic faculty of the Semipalatinsk Medical Academy. In 2001, he transferred to the Kazakh State Medical Academy (Astana). He graduated from the Kazakh State Medical Academy in 2005 with a degree in medicine. From 2005 to 2006, he completed his internship in otorhinolaryngology for adults at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology (KazGMA, Astana). In 2009, he defended his candidate dissertation on the topic: "Effectiveness of Endoscopic Rhin surgery in Deviated Nasal Septum." His scientific supervisor was Academician R.K. Tulebaev. From 2011 to 2019, he served as an assistant in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology at the Medical University of Astana. Since 2012, he has been an associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology at the Medical University of Astana. In 2010, he received a patent for an invention.

Bayan Kenjehanovna Ersakhanova graduated with honors from the Semipalatinsk State Medical Institute in 1987 with a degree in "Medicine." During her studies, she was a Lenin scholarship holder. From 1987 to 1989, she completed her clinical residency in otorhinolaryngology at the Semipalatinsk State Medical Institute. From 1992 to 2012, she worked as an assistant in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the State Medical University of Semey. Since 2012, she has been an assistant in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical University of Astana. In 2006, she graduated from Kainar University with a degree in "Bachelor of Foreign Languages." At the department, she is responsible for testing, documentation in both the state and English languages, and educational work. She is actively involved in educational and methodological activities, participates in scientific and practical conferences, master classes, training seminars, and professional development courses in pedagogy and her specialty. She has published over 86 scientific works and three textbooks on otorhinolaryngology in the Kazakh language, including: 1. "A Brief Study Guide on Otorhinolaryngology," 2. "Practical Skills in the Treatment and Diagnosis of ENT Diseases," and 3. "Emergency Situations in Otorhinolaryngology." She has one rationalization proposal and has implemented the results of scientific research into clinical practice. She holds the highest medical qualification category indefinitely.

2012 to 2015, she completed her residency in the specialty of "Otorhinolaryngology (adult, pediatric, audiology)." 

From 2016 to 2019, she completed her residency in the specialty of "Otorhinolaryngology (adult, pediatric, audiology)." Co-author of the methodological guide for residents titled "Traumatic Nose Disease and Otorhinolaryngology."Received a commendation letter from the Akim of Astana.

From 2019 to 2021, she completed her residency in the specialty of "Otorhinolaryngology (adult, pediatric)." 

From 2016 to 2019, she completed her residency in the specialty of "Otorhinolaryngology (adult, pediatric, audiology)."
