Tasks
The Department of Childhood Diseases of the Internship is a graduating department and carries out educational activities aimed at training specialists with theoretical and practical training, professional knowledge, skills and abilities that meet the requirements of the State Educational Standard of Education of the specialization "Pediatrics" in the specialty "General Medicine".
The department carries out educational, methodological, research and treatment and consulting work in the main sections of the discipline "childhood diseases" and "outpatient pediatrics" for interns 6 and 7 courses of the specialty "General medicine".
The department also trains residents in the specialties "Pediatrics" and "Nephrology, including children" and training in the magistracy in the specialty 6M110100- "Medicine".
Achievements
In the educational process, the staff of the department introduced various innovative teaching methods and methods of monitoring the knowledge and skills of interns and residents:
- multiple choice tests (MSQ);
- Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE);
- case-oriented learning (Case Based Learning - CBL),
- short-format clinical exam (miniСEX);
- long-term clinical examination - supervision of the patient.
The department is actively introducing innovative teaching methods:
- simulator SIM NEW BABY
- simulation simulator AND PEDIA SIM,
- clinical scenarios by modules have been developed.
The following modern technologies have been introduced into the medical and diagnostic process of the department's clinical bases and the educational process of interns:
1. Protocols for the diagnosis and treatment of childhood diseases (in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan);
2. WHO international criteria for live births and monitoring of the state of newborns (BABIES) (associate professors Chekhov G. I., Nuranova G. A.);
3. Daily monitoring of blood pressure in children( SMAD), Holter monitoring (Prof. Muldakhmetov M. S.);
4.The principles of scientific management and the basics of bioethics have been introduced into the research activities of the department (Associate professors M. S. Isabekova, L. D. Sadibekova).
Employees of the department take part in the development and implementation of problem-based learning (PBL) in the framework of the international TEMPUS program.
Educational and clinical bases of the department are located in 10 children's medical and preventive institutions of Astana: JSC "National Scientific Center of Motherhood and Childhood", city children's hospital No. 1 and No. 2, district hospital, city children's polyclinics №2, №4, №8, №9 and MC "Mediker".
Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor M. S. Muldakhmetov has the highest qualification category, is the owner of the mark "Excellent Health Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan"," For contribution to the development of health care of Kazakhstan", certified independent expert of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, validator and quality commissioner of the European Federation of Quality Management (EFQM), has been trained in the United States, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan on the organization and quality control of the educational process, the introduction of innovative teaching methods, accreditation of medical universities, the basics of evidence-based medicine, a member of the International Association of Nephrologists, author of more than 80 scientific papers, 3 author's certificates for inventions, 4 teaching aids and recommendations.
Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences M. S. Isabekova is a certified specialist in the field of research management, has completed an internship in the United States on the organization and quality control of scientific research, on children's oncohematology.
Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences G. I. Chekhov is the curator of the program of the volunteer movement among interns of the university "Caring Hands" for the rehabilitation of rejected children in Astana. Actively participates in the work of the Committee for Quality Control of Medical Services as an independent expert of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Assistant of the department Mitina M. S. is the coordinator of the program of the Department of Health of Astana on nutrition of young children in cooperation with the company"Nutricia". Participates in the work of the commission of UNICEF, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the revision of regulations in the field of maternal and child health in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The scientific activity of the department is carried out in accordance with the plan of research activities of the university. Employees and applicants of the department performed and defended under the guidance of Prof. Muldakhmetova M. S., scientific research on 10 dissertations, including 2 doctoral and 8 candidate theses.
Employees of the department take an active part in the development and implementation of innovative teaching methods. According to the results of activity for 2015, the department won an educational grant for the development and implementation of innovative training technology "Development and implementation of simulation technologies in the educational process using robotic mannequinssimbaby and PediaSIM".
3 clinical scenarios were developed and installed to develop the necessary practical skills of a pediatrician in neonatology, cardiology and pulmonology.
According to the results of the development and implementation of innovative simulation technologies in the educational process for the training of interns of the specialty "Pediatrics", the department received certificates of implementation of KVNOT of JSC " Astana Medical University»:
1." Application of simulation technologies in neonatology in the training of pediatricians»;
2. " Application of simulation technologies in cardiology in the training of pediatricians»;
3. "Application of simulation technologies in pulmonology in the training of pediatricians".
In the 2016-2016 academic year, the Department of Children's Diseases of Internship held a student scientific and practical conference "Assessment and correction of the nutritional status of children". The conference was attended by teachers of the department, interns of 6-7 courses and residents of the specialty "Pediatrics", as well as representatives of the world companies for the production of children's and medical nutrition products Imapa (Humana), Heinz (Heinz) and Abbott (Abbott).
Teachers, interns and residents of the department took an active part in the 58th International Scientific and Practical Conference of students and Young Scientists of JSC "Astana Medical University" in April 2016, where 10 reports on the results of the research activities of the department were presented. Prize-winning places were taken by interns of the department Aubakirova B., Baidullayeva D. and residents Taurbekova B., Khabaeva A., Kozybayeva Zh.
In the annual competition "The best graduate", the intern of the department, B. Aubakirova, took the 1st place among the interns of JSC MUA and took part in the Republican Competition of interns in Almaty, where she became the winner in the nomination "The Best pediatrician".
The Department presented and successfully confirmed its educational and methodological and research achievements in the framework of the international accreditation of JSC"MUA" under the EFQM system in the nomination for "5 star".
