Aims
Training of highly qualified specialists and scientific and pedagogical personnel in the field of medicine with a high level of intellectual, cultural and moral development, in accordance with the existing and future requirements of society and the state.
History of creation
Training of doctors in the specialty "Pediatrics" at the Tselinograd State Medical Institute began in 1979 at the Department of Children's Diseases of the Faculty of Medicine. The first head of the department of childhood diseases was Ph.D., associate professor Chuchupalov D.P. With the opening of the Faculty of Pediatrics, in 1979 the Department of Pediatric Diseases of the Pediatric Faculty was organized.
The Department of Children's Diseases was organized in January 2000 as a result of the division of the Department of Children's Diseases of the Pediatric Faculty. The first head of the Department of Children's Diseases, and to the present, is the doctor of medical sciences, professor Muldahmetov Meiram Seitzhanovich.
Activity
The Chair provides educational, methodical, scientific and medical advisory work on the basic sections of discipline "Childhood diseases" and "Outpatient Pediatrics" for interns of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 courses of specialty "General medicine". The Chair also prepares residents of specialization "Pediatrics", “Nephrology, including childrens”, “Pulmonology, including childrens” and carries out a training at the master's and doctor's programs of specialization "Medicine". Educational-clinical bases of the Chair are located at 10 children's hospitals of Astana: city children's hospital №1, №2 and №3, city children's polyclinics №2, №4, №8, №13 and MC "Green clinic ". Interns have the opportunity to supervise patients under the supervision of assistants, to participate in the bypass patients with professors and associate professors, case clinical analysis of patients, to attend clinical and pathological conferences, conduct preventive and sanitary-educational work among the older children and their parents, to work in the procedure room, radiology offices, the office of functional diagnostics, emergency room.
Achievements
Different innovative methods of teaching and methods of control of knowledge and skills of interns, residents were implemented by the staff of the Chair:

The Chair is actively introducing innovative methods of teaching:

simulation simulator SIM NEW BABY

simulation simulator PEDIA SIM,

developed clinical scenarios for the modules
Three clinical scenario to practice the necessary practical skills SIMBaby and PediaSIM of the pediatrician in neonatology, cardiology and pulmonology were developed and installed. Members of the Chair participate in the development and implementation the problem-based learning (PBL) in the framework of the international program TEMPUS.
As part of academic mobility, the department accepted and conducted training and master classes under the program "Children's diseases in hospital" for students of Novosibirsk Medical University (Russia) and as part of the academic mobility of the master's degree program "Correction of nutritional status in children with chronic kidney disease" by a graduate student from the NAO "Semey Medical University".
Scientific activity of Chair is carried out in accordance with the plan of research works of the University. Employees and applicants of the Chair were defended researchs for 18 dissertation work, including 3 doctoral, 8 candidate and 7 master's dissertations under the supervision of professor Muldakhmetov M.S.
Doctoral student of the department Nusupova R.R. became the holder of a scientific grant from the NAO "Astana Medical University" and is undergoing an internship at the University of Nagasaki (Japan) on the topic of research work "Optimization of medulloblastoma therapy in children, taking into account the molecular genetic characteristics of the tumor."
