History of creation
In 1972, an associate professor course in pediatric surgery was opened under the direction of G.N. Neikov.
G.N. Neykov graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Medical Institute in 1955. He was sent to the Tselinograd Regional Chair of Health. He worked as a surgeon in the Vishnevskaya Central District Hospital, and subsequently he was in charge of the surgical Chair of the Tselinograd hospital. In 1970 he defended his thesis on the topic: "Acute appendicitis in children." In 1972, he was elected head of the Associate Professor Course in Pediatric Surgery at the Tselinograd State Medical Institute. In 1984 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Changes in microcirculation and their correction in purulent-septic surgical diseases in children."
In 1985, the course of pediatric surgery was transformed and the Chair of Pediatric Surgery was organized at the clinical base of the Children's City Hospital in Tselinograd. Professor G.N. Neikov became the first head of the Chair of Pediatric Surgery. The title of professor was awarded in 1987. Neikov G.N. highly appreciated: Honorary Diploma of the Supreme Council of the KazSSR; medal "For labor valor"; medal "For the development of virgin lands"; Badge of the Ministry of Health "Excellent worker of health care". He was a member of the New York Academy of Sciences.
In 2000-2001 the Chair was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences Ormanov B.S. Graduated from Almaty Medical Institute. In 1986 he defended his thesis on the topic: "Peritonitis in children." In 1996 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic: "Adhesive intestinal obstruction in children." He began working at the Chair of Pediatric Surgery in 1998.
From 2001 to 2012 The activities of the Chair were led by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erekeshov A.E.
Erekeshov A.E. in 1970 he graduated from the pediatric faculty of the Alma-Ata State Medical Institute. He served in the Armed Forces of the USSR as a military doctor. After demobilization, he worked as a pediatric surgeon. In 1986 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on the topic “Treatment of supra- and transcondylar fractures of the humerus in children”, in the same year he was awarded the badge “Excellent Worker of Public Health of the USSR”. From 1991 to 1995, he worked first as an assistant, and then as an assistant professor at the Chair of Pediatric Surgery, KazNMU named after. S. D. Asfendiyarova. From 1995 to 2001 - head of the course of pediatric surgery at the ASIUV in Almaty. Since 1995, he was the chief freelance pediatric orthopedist-traumatologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1999, A. E. Erekeshov was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of science, technology and education .
In 2000 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Clinical and pathogenetic substantiation and development of new methods for the treatment of fractures of the humerus in children." In 2003 he was awarded the title of professor. Member of the International Association of Orthopedic Traumatologists (SICOT) and the Russian Association of Pediatric Surgeons and the International Association of Physicians.
Professor A.Erekeshov was awarded the titles of "Excellent Worker of Public Health of the USSR" and "Honored Inventor of the USSR". He has a number of awards and letters of thanks from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2006 A.E. Erekeshov was awarded the Presidential State Grant "The Best University Teacher". His name is included in the book "Kazakhstan Ulttyk Encyclopedia".
Under the guidance of Professor A.E. Erekeshov, 1 dissertation of a doctor of medical sciences, 19 dissertations of a candidate of medical sciences were defended.
Under the editorship of A.E. Erekeshov, two monographs and 12 teaching aids in Kazakh and Russian were published, more than 200 scientific papers on topical issues of pediatric surgery and traumatology were published, he had 45 copyright certificates and patents for inventions.
Goals
Teaching pediatric surgery aims to prepare future doctors to provide emergency and planned surgical care to children, to teach them the methods of clinical and special diagnostics, medical and surgical tactics, which is necessary in the practical work of a doctor.
Functions
-development of a strategy for the development of the Chair in areas and specialties of training, strengthening and development of external relations with employers and educational authorities;
-implementation of educational programs of SCES of higher professional and postgraduate education in the profile of the Chair;
- development of an intra-Chairal quality system for training specialists;
-conducting all types of training sessions according to the forms of education;
-maintenance of an electronic journal of progress by the staff of the Chair according to the pedagogical load;
- holding meetings of the Chair to discuss planned and current issues of educational, methodological, clinical, scientific work of employees and educational work with students;
- development of curricula for the disciplines of the Chair;
-implementation of a comprehensive educational and methodological and organizational and methodological support of the educational process according to the profile of the Chair;
-development of work plans for the Chair and individual work plans for teachers of the Chair;
-conducting all types of training sessions, management of research work and dissertations of undergraduates and PhD students;
-carrying out research work at the Chair and approbation of innovative technologies;
- publication of textbooks, teaching aids and other scientific / educational, educational and methodical literature;
- implementation of the results of scientific research in practical healthcare (obtaining security documents, acts of implementation in practical healthcare, patents);
- involvement of students in research work (SSS, ongoing research projects); ensuring the publication of scientific works of students, including in international peer-reviewed journals; obtaining security documents with the participation of students; ensuring the participation of students in olympiads, scientific and practical conferences and competitions of scientific works;
-ensuring the effectiveness of research activities: publication of articles in journals with an impact factor; publications (articles) in the Republic of Kazakhstan, CIS countries and far abroad;
- ensuring the possibility of coverage at republican, international meetings of specialists in the field and publication of the achieved scientific results in peer-reviewed publications in the specialty;
- implementation of an application for the provision of scientific and pedagogical workers for the assignment of the academic titles of professors, associate professors, honorary titles. Studying, summarizing and disseminating the experience of the best teachers, assisting novice teachers in mastering pedagogical skills;
-implementation of quality control and implementation of individual plans of teachers of the Chair and other types of work of employees;
- implementation of medical work according to the profile (curation of patients, the implementation of various diagnostic and treatment procedures and manipulations);
-participation in public and cultural events organized by the dean's offices and the leadership of the University;
-participation in the work of the educational and methodological commission in the areas of training within the university and at the interuniversity level;
-definition and establishment of goals in the field of quality of the Chair, development of measures to achieve goals in the field of quality of the Chair;
-providing the means of labor for the employees of the Chair: determining the need for material and technical means and drawing up applications for their purchase....
Activity
Research work:
The Chair of Pediatric Surgery NJSC "MUA" published scientific, clinical and methodological works (more than 450 scientific papers), which included 5 monographs, 17 teaching aids. The staff of the Chair received more than 50 patents for inventions and copyrights. 1 doctoral, 13 master's theses, 3 PhD dissertations in medicine, 6 master's theses were defended. Currently (2022), 4 PhD-doctoral students are studying at the Chair. Since 1980, a scientific student circle has been functioning. The management and control of the work of the Council of People's Commissars is carried out by: d.m.s. Lozovoy V.M., Associate Professor of the Chair of Pediatric Surgery, Ph.D. Kuzmin V.D. Quarterly, the staff of the Chair participate in conferences of the Association of Pediatric Surgeons in Nur-sultan. Every year at the All-Russian Scientific Student Conference, members of the scientific circle of the Chair of Pediatric Surgery take 1-3 places. Students take an active part in republican and international conferences of students and young scientists. In 2019, the staff of the Chair took an active part in the 1st Congress of the Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Central Asia, in 2021 - in the 2nd Congress of the Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Central Asia.
Clinical activities:
The teachers of the Chair annually supervise up to 1.5 thousand and advise up to 5 thousand patients, perform more than 400 surgical interventions. Up to 20 scientific papers are published jointly with practitioners of public health.
Educational work:
The Chair of Pediatric Surgery conducts educational work in the supervised groups of the Faculty of General Medicine during the educational process, after school hours, on the “days of the Chair” in the dormitories of the MUA....
Achievements
The Chair has 67% degrees, 1 doctor of medical sciences, 6 candidates of medical sciences, 3 PhD doctors, 4 PhD doctoral students, 2 residents of the 2nd year of study and 3 residents of the 1st year of study.
The main directions of the scientific work of the Chair are the improvement and development of treatment methods on topical issues of pediatric surgery, traumatology, urology and neurosurgery. During the existence of the Chair, more than 500 scientific articles, 5 monographs, 17 textbooks have been published, more than 50 patents for inventions and intellectual property certificates have been received.
Since 2008, residency has been opened at the Chair. More than 20 residents have been trained at the Chair. Since 2011, a master's program has been opened, since 2010 - PhD doctoral studies. Over the years, 6 masters of medical sciences and 3 PhDs have been trained.
The teaching staff of the Chair is constantly improving professional training (regular thematic and professional improvements) - in 2019-2021, the staff of the Chair completed more than 30 improvement cycles in pedagogy and clinical focus, 3 of them - in foreign countries.
Employees of the Chair actively participate in the organization and conduct of training programs for practical doctors - master classes.
To improve the effectiveness of training, teachers conduct classes using new educational technologies (NOT). In 2001, the educational technology "E-learning" was developed and introduced into the educational process (doctor PhD Dosanova A.K.)

Title of work: "Applied research of congenital systemic diseases of the skeleton with impaired growth of cartilage and bone tissue in children."
