September 28-29, 2023 "Astana Medical University" together with the "Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeons of Kazakhstan" (SBMSK) - a member of the International Federation of Surgery for Obesity and Metabolic Disorders - IFSO) holds the "ΙΙ-th Congress of the Kazakhstan Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeons" metabolic surgeons” (KaSBariMeT-2023) with international participation. The main topic of the congress: "Laparoscopic metabolic surgery for type 2 diabetes mellitus in the practice of a surgeon and an endocrinologist." The Congress is attended by "Association of Physicians - Endocrinologists of Kazakhstan" (AVEK) - a member of the International Diabetes Federation - IDF), "Kazakhstan Society of Surgeons", "Kazakhstan Association of Endoscopic Surgeons"
Sections are planned on the following topics:
- the role of the endocrinologist in bariatric/metabolic surgery (BMS);
- metabolically associated diseases in the practice of internal medicine;
- post-bariatric plastic surgery;
- general surgery procedures in patients with obesity and diabetes mellitus;
- endoscopy and endosurgery in BMS;
- post-bariatric dietology and nutrition;
Bariatric and metabolic surgeons, general surgeons, plastic surgeons, endocrinologists, cardiologists, pulmonologists, hepatologists, gastroenterologists, endoscopists, nutritionists are invited.
We invite you to the exhibition of medical equipment and medical products.
Conference working languages: Kazakh, Russian, English.
Based on the materials of the conference, a collection of proceedings of the scientific and practical conference will be published.

Abstract requirements:
Materials of original research, carefully verified and edited, are accepted for publication. The thesis is accepted with the condition of a detailed report at the conference of the conducted research. The text document is provided in Microsoft Word 2013 format, on 1-2 pages of A4 format, font 12, Times New Roman, single spacing, margins - left and right 2.0, top and bottom - 1.5.
Abstracts of reports on the topic of the congress will be evaluated by reviewers, the decision to accept abstracts for publication and presentation at the congress will be available on the event website.
HOW TO APPLY THE THESIS
- Full name of the authors (bold type, surname and initials)
-Name of the work (capital case, bold, no quotes)
- Full name of the supervisor (italics, degree, position)
-Department, university (organization), city (italic)
-Thesis text (introduction, relevance, purpose, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusions)
REQUIREMENTS FOR ORAL PRESENTATION AT THE CONFERENCE
1. The presentation must be made in MS Power Point (PowerPoint 2003-2016).
2. Duration of oral presentation should not exceed 7 minutes, discussion - 3 minutes.
3. Due to different laptop software, please save your presentations in two extensions *.ppt and *.pptx.
4. Requirements for the presentation: the presentation must be made according to generally accepted rules (light slide + dark letters). On the first slide: the name of the university, then - the name of the department or place of work for practicing medical workers, the name of the job; full name of the speaker; the name of the supervisor; city and year, etc.
5. Submit the report in a timely manner until September 27, 2023 to the moderators of the sections according to the conference program.
