May 16, 2023 at NJSC "Astana Medical University" Alma Alibekovna Syzdykova - Master of Business Administration, Director of the Department of Science and Education of the Corporate Fund "University Medical Center" held a motivational lecture for students of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd courses of the educational program "Nursing" on the topic: "Nursing. Prospects for the development of the profession.

The purpose of the lecture: to show the importance and attractiveness of the nursing profession, its prospects for a future career.

In her speech, Alma Alibekovna presented interesting facts about the chronicle of the development of the nursing profession, as well as its prospects.

She cited research findings showing improved patient outcomes with graduate and advanced trained nurses “Hospitals with a higher proportion of nurses educated at the bachelor's level and above had lower mortality and morbidity rates among surgical patients (link - Linda H. Aiken, PhD, RN Sean P. Clarke, PhD, RN Robyn B. Cheung, PhD, RN Douglas M. Sloane, PhD Jeffrey H. Silber, PhD).

The lecturer shared with the trainees some useful links: database, books for nursing: The Future of Nursing in 2020-2030: Charting the Path to Achieving Equity in Health Care, 301 Careers in Nursing, which highlight the range of available and diverse topic possibilities who are interested in a career in nursing, etc.

As a result of such meetings with leading experts in the industry, there were those who decided not to change their chosen specialty among 1st year students who had uncertainty about combining their chosen profession with further professional activity. Lectures motivate and give confidence to students in their chosen profession, as well as motivate them to continuously develop, learn English in order to be able to participate in external academic mobility.
