As part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary, Astana Medical University held a large-scale International Urological Conference. The event, held in a hybrid format, brought together leading experts in the field of urology from all over the world.

Among the foreign speakers:

- Alexander Yeralievich Zhaugashev, chief surgeon of the Fomin Clinic network, author of the largest Russian-language educational YouTube channel about surgery.

- Gu Di, Deputy Director of the Department of Urology at Guangzhou Medical University Hospital, member of the Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Committee of the Chinese Medical Association, specialist in the field of robotic surgery;

- Wei Zhu, Associate Professor at Guangzhou Medical University Hospital, specializing in the treatment of urolithiasis, author of more than 30 scientific papers in leading world publications

- Ali Elmanovich Talyshinsky, member of the EAU Endourology and Urolithiasis Working Group, External Researcher at MAHE

(Karnataka, India), post-graduate student of the Department of Radiation Diagnostics of St. Petersburg State University, Russia.

One of the key features of the conference was a unique hybrid format combining live surgery and panel discussion. Two parallel laparoscopic prostatectomies were performed live by experienced surgeons: Alexander Yeralievich Zhaugashev, representing the Russian school of Surgery, and Professor Wei Zhu, a representative of the Chinese school. Parallel operations made it possible to compare the techniques and approaches used by surgeons.

The conference participants had the opportunity to observe the operations performed by recognized masters of their craft. Thanks to the interactive format, all those present had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and discuss the most pressing issues of modern urology.

Robotic surgery and new technologies

One of the key topics of the conference was robotic surgery. Experts from the People's Republic of China shared their experience of using robotic systems in the treatment of prostate cancer.

The experience of leading specialists

A.E. Zhaugashev made a presentation "How to become a good surgeon?", which aroused great interest among young specialists. In his speech, he shared valuable advice and practical experience, helping young doctors improve their skills.

Breakthrough research and new trends

An important part of the conference was the presentation of A.E. Talyshinsky with his new work "Understanding the anatomy of the renal cavity system through decades", which, according to experts, may become a new trend in endourology.

Achievements of Kazakhstani scientists

Among the domestic speakers were scientists from Kazakhstan, who presented the results of their research. Zhanbyrbekuly U. presented the results of clinical validation of the ACSS questionnaire in Kazakh for differential diagnosis and assessment of the severity of symptoms of acute cystitis. Iskakova E.A. shared the results of a study on the surgical treatment of ureteral strictures. Zhankina R.A. highlighted a promising area of regenerative therapy in andrology.
