From October 14 to 18, 2024, a scientific and practical masterclass was held for residents, intern doctors, and faculty members of the Department of Internal Diseases with courses of Gastroenterology, Endocrinology and Pulmonology of NpJSC «Astana Medical University». The event was led by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Digitalization and Health Organization at Tver State Medical University, and Chairman of the Board of the Moscow Scientific Society of Therapists, Pavel A. Vorobyov, addressing current issues related to hemostasis disorders in internal medicine.

Professor Vorobyov thoroughly reviewed the pathophysiological mechanisms of normal blood coagulation, as well as methodological approaches to interpreting changes in various components of the coagulation system. He also discussed the causes, risk factors, and mechanisms of impairment of the coagulation, anticoagulation, and fibrinolytic systems in disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) syndrome. Professor Vorobyov outlined the methodological aspects of interpreting changes in hemostasis in the development of DIC within the internal medicine clinic.

Lectures on the pathogenesis of hemostasis disorders in acute kidney injury and the development of multiple organ failure due to septic damage in internal medicine were also highly relevant for the participants. The lectures on the therapy of hemostasis disorders in DIC syndrome, acute kidney injury, antiphospholipid syndrome, and COVID-associated pneumonia were particularly significant for practical application.

The event was organized by the Department of Internal Diseases with courses of Gastroenterology, Endocrinology and Pulmonology of NpJSC «Astana Medical University» led by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor B.A. Aynabekova.
