Psychological Events: Developing Emotional Resilience and Managing Emotions

On October 18, 2024, at 6:00 PM, a seminar-training on the topic “Emotional Resilience: Developing Emotional Intelligence, Managing Stress, and Effective Communication” was held in the main building of the Medical University of Astana (Lecture Hall No. 2) at the request of students working at the KazMSA organization. A total of 50 participants attended.

During the seminar, participants studied the components of emotional intelligence and methods of stress management, which contribute to improving their personal and professional lives.

Goal of the Seminar-Training:

To form and develop emotional resilience in participants through the study of components of emotional intelligence, effective stress management methods, and communication skills, which will enhance their personal and professional lives.

Objectives:

1.       Study the Basics of Emotional Intelligence:

•        Explain the concept of emotional intelligence and its components.

•        Show how emotional intelligence affects behavior and relationships.

2.       Analyze Stress Management Methods:

•        Discuss the causes and signs of stress.

•        Introduce participants to relaxation and mindfulness techniques.

3.       Develop Communication Skills:

•        Emphasize the importance of active listening and empathy in communication.

•        Conduct exercises to improve communication skills.

4.       Practical Application of Art Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

•        Introduce participants to art therapy and CBT techniques.

•        Conduct practical exercises to reinforce the knowledge gained.

5.       Create a Positive Emotional Atmosphere:

•        Foster awareness of the importance of emotional resilience.

•        Encourage the creation of a supportive environment for sharing experiences and knowledge.

The seminar included a practical exercise in the field of art therapy for analyzing stress situations and ecologically processing negative emotions and feelings. Body exercises and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques were also offered. Students actively participated in discussions and exercises. At the end of the seminar, participants shared their impressions and valuable information in the feedback form.

 

On October 19, 2024, a psychological training session titled “How to Be with Emotions” was conducted by a psychologist at the dormitory located at 136 Aкан Серы Street. Number of Participants: 20

Goal of the Training:

To update the experience and knowledge of students related to the emotional sphere.

Objectives of the Training:

1.       Create a positive emotional atmosphere in the group.

2.       Train the ability to constructively express one’s emotional state.

3.       Teach “open” expression of emotions through “I-statements.”

During the training, the art therapy method known as MASKOTERAPIA was demonstrated. All participants, along with the psychologist, created masks representing “Negative States” and performed in front of other participants based on their created masks. This exercise facilitated active participation among students and the sharing of experiences in overcoming negative situations. It allowed participants to ecologically process their emotions and states.
