November 27, 2024 – Training “How to Handle Emotions”

Venue: Student House, Zhenis Avenue 35

Number of Participants: 27

Purpose of the Training: To enhance students’ knowledge and experience in the emotional sphere.

Objectives:

•        To create a positive emotional atmosphere in the group;

•        To develop skills for constructive expression of emotions;

•        To teach the “I-statements” technique for open and ecologically appropriate expression of feelings.

Training Program:

The theoretical part covered the following topics:

•        What emotions are and why they are important;

•        The main types of emotions and their functions;

•        Techniques for controlling emotional states;

•        Exercises to manage emotions in challenging situations.

The practical part included the following exercises:

1.       “What Color Am I?” — an exercise aimed at exploring one’s emotional state through imagery and associations.

2.       “I-statements” — practice to develop skills in open and constructive emotional expression.

The training concluded with an art therapy method called “Free Drawing,” where participants expressed their accumulated negative emotions through drawings. Afterward, they shared their artwork, explained the associations, and discussed how they cope with different types of emotions.

Results:

The training received positive feedback. Participants highlighted the usefulness of the exercises, shared their experiences in overcoming stress, and expressed interest in attending similar events in the future.

November 30, 2024 – Training “Be Yourself”

Venue: Student House, Akan Sery Street 136

Number of Participants: 15

Purpose of the Training: To develop the ability to adequately evaluate oneself and one’s qualities.

Objectives:

•        To form an understanding of the multifaceted nature of self-perception;

•        To realize the factors influencing self-esteem and self-attitude;

•        To motivate participants to develop self-perception based on internal values and beliefs.

The theoretical part focused on discussing the differences between emotions and feelings, their role in human life, and the influence of the environment on self-esteem.

The practical part included:

1.       “Hand of Success” — participants drew a hand and wrote their positive qualities on each finger. This exercise helped them recognize their strengths.

2.       “The Pie” — an exercise aimed at exploring various aspects of personality. Participants drew a circle divided into segments representing significant areas of their life. The central element, the “eye of the pie,” symbolized an internal observer that helps in self-understanding.

Results:

After the training, participants shared their impressions, discussed their qualities, emotions, and experiences. They noted the positive impact of the exercises on recognizing their strengths and boosting self-confidence. All participants left positive feedback and expressed a desire to attend similar events again.

Conclusions:

The conducted trainings demonstrated high demand among students. The combination of theoretical and practical parts enabled participants to acquire new knowledge and experience, as well as gain a deeper understanding of their emotions and personal qualities. The positive feedback confirms the necessity of holding such events regularly.
