Within the framework of cooperation between the World Health Organization and the Astana Medical University, on January 18, 2021, on the basis of the State Public Enterprise on the REM “Multidisciplinary City Children’s Hospital No. 3” of the Akimat of Nur-Sultan, an immunological semi-automatic analyzer Multiscan FC manufactured by Thermo scientific USA was transferred to the Chair of Laboratory Medicine of NJSC “AMU” located at this clinic. The device is intended for joint implementation of a research grant from the NJSC “Astana Medical University” with the WHO on the topic “Research of confirmed and probable SARS-CoV-2 cases and contacts in the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
This event was held with the participation of the rector of the NJSC “AMU” Professor D. Pavalkis, the head of the WHO Country Office Dr. Caroline Clarinval, the vice-rector for scientific work A.K. Konkayev, the head of the Department of Science and Innovation G.T. Tuleshova, the deputy director for medical activity of the City Children’s Hospital No. 3 R.B. Utegenova, head of the CDIL Volkova G.S., head of the Chair of laboratory medicine, Ph.D. A.K. Moldabayeva and the staff of the Chair.
The Multiscan FC is designed to measure optical density in 96-well microplates and strips, and as an option - in 384-well plates that comply with ANSI / SBS standards. Immunological studies are diagnostic methods based on the specific interaction of antigens and antibodies. The important information obtained through the use of immunological methods will significantly reduce the analysis time, with a high specificity of screening, prognosis and diagnosis of diseases. Multiscan FC is used for highly sensitive assessment of the biochemical characteristics of the organism by detecting the concentration of specific proteins, hormones, antibodies, studying the molecular mechanisms of the pathogenesis of various diseases, identifying markers of pathogens of social infections (hepatitis B and C, Covid-19, HIV, rotavirus and intrauterine infections).
