The educational program is aimed at training specialists capable of developing and implementing individualized occupational therapy programs, assessing patients’ functional status, restoring self-care, work-related, and social participation skills, as well as participating in multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams.

The training of occupational therapists contributes to improving the quality of healthcare services, social adaptation, and the quality of life of patients, which corresponds to the current priorities of healthcare system development in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

GRADUATE PROFILE

A graduate of the “Occupational Therapy” educational program who has completed training and obtained a Bachelor of Health degree is a specialist in medical rehabilitation, restoration of functional independence, and social adaptation of individuals.

The graduate:

1.     Is a specialist in occupational therapy and medical rehabilitation.

2.     Possesses methods of functional diagnostics and assessment of patient activity and participation.

3.     Conducts assessment of patients’ functional status and determines rehabilitation potential.

4.     Develops and implements individualized occupational therapy programs for patients of different age groups.

5.     Applies modern occupational therapy methods for prevention, treatment, and restoration of impaired functions.

6.     Uses medical, digital, and information technologies in professional practice.

7.     Participates in the work of multidisciplinary medical rehabilitation teams.

8.     Provides consultative and educational activities on maintaining patient independence and quality of life.

9.     Selects and trains patients in the use of rehabilitation assistive devices and assistive technologies.

10. Is prepared for research, analytical, and practical activities in occupational therapy and medical rehabilitation.
